This program was written by Don Brown of CE Software. It is a combination INIT and cdev and is installed by dragging it into your System folder and restarting your computer. Various options can be set via the Control Panel.
Because the author refuses to update the program, it has unfortunately become obsolete. The INIT–29 Virus will be allowed to infect if the “Always compile MPW INIT” option is selected, the WDEF, ZUC, and MDEF–B Viruses are not blocked, and the MDEF–A virus is only partially blocked causing menu to stop fucntioning except in infected programs. Also, Vaccine sometimes prevents viral infection by crashing the computer!
It is recommended that GateKeeper be used instead.

Vaccine operates by automatically trapping attempts to write executable resources to any file on your computer. It will respond to any such attempt by displaying a dialog showing the resource type which is being added and the file to which it is being added. The user may either prevent or allow this access. To see an example of the dialog use the “Show Vaccine Dialog” button above.
